Location: Residence on 462nd Ave near US14

On the above date and time, the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office and Volga Fire Department responded to the above location for a controlled burn which had left it’s containment pit. The fire spread through corn stalk stover which had blown into the area and ignited a pile of logs which were waiting to be milled. The Volga Fire Department was able to regain control of the fire shortly after arrival. The total extent of the damage is estimated at approx. $500.
