ROAD CLOSURE

BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION 5.8 MILES and 6.5 MILES NORTH OF BRUCE, SD

Brookings SD, November 7, 2016:  

The above referenced project is scheduled to start Monday, November 14, 2016.  Work entails replacement of 2 bridges on County Road 7 north of Bruce.  The roadway will be closed to through traffic during structure replacement with a detour provided.  Detour route and project location can be viewed at the link below.  The project will continue to progress through the winter with a completion sometime next spring.

Bridges & Roads

Brookings County Highway Department maintains 220 bridges. One hundred and sixty three structures have a span length greater than 20 feet and 34 are box culverts. The department also maintains 394 miles of county roads (133 miles of gravel roads and 261 miles of hard-surface roads).
