Duties of the Supervisor
The Weed and Pest Supervisor’s job is to control all state and local noxious weeds, respond to infestation complaints, input and recommend control measures, and control noxious weeds on county, state, and interstate roads, right-of-ways, and other easements.

Weed & Pest Department Responsibilities

  • Control noxious weeds
  • Control pocket gophers
  • File records, bills
  • Maintain equipment
  • Maintain spraying licensing

Brookings County Weed & Pest Department to Offer Mosquito Spraying

The Brookings County Weed & Pest Department will be offering mosquito spraying for Brookings County residents at a cost of $50 to $100, depending on the size of the area needing to be sprayed.

Residents must complete an application and waiver form that includes pre-payment.  One week’s notice is also required. The Application and Waiver can be found here or can be obtained by calling the Brookings County Weed & Pest Department at 605-696-8352.
