Women, Infant and Children (WIC)
A supplemental nutrition program funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
WIC provides:
- Nutrition Education and Counseling
- Breastfeeding support and education
- Healthy food options based on individual needs
- Referrals to local resources
Who can be on WIC:
- Pregnant women
- Post-partum women
- Infants and children up to the age of 5
An applicant must:
- Be a South Dakota resident
- Nutrition or health risk which is determined at a WIC appointment
- Meet income guidelines

- Who are 18 years of age and younger
- Private insurance, Medicaid and no insurance
- Flu vaccines: available for anyone 6 months of age and older
