Reported: 7/17/2022 9:34AM Occurred: Sometime between 7/15/2022 9:00PM and 7/16/2022 8:30AM Location: 100blk Brody Ave, Volga, SD Vehicle: 2011 Kia Sorento
On the above date and time, the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office took report of a vehicle being tampered with. Deputies found sometime between 7/15/2022 9:00PM and 7/16/2022 8:30AM an unknown suspect(s) loosened three lug nuts from the rear driver’s side tire. The vehicle was being driven when the driver discovered this damage but was able to maintain control of the vehicle. This incident remains under investigation by the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.
As a safety precaution, the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the motoring public to ensure the safety of their vehicle prior to entering the roadway. Tires and fasteners should be checked for damage, wear and tampering. If you do find damage which may have been intentional please call dispatch, 605-692-2113 and a deputy or officer will meet with you.
