Location: Residence in the 100blk Main Ave, Sinai, SD
On the above date and time, the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office responded to the above location after it was reported someone was attempting to enter the residence. Deputies responded and found no one was able to enter the residence and had departed the area prior to their arrival. The resident reported the unknown suspect(s) went to the front door and attempted to gain entry by forcing their way through the lock, but were unsuccessful. A search of the area was conducted and no suspicious person was found. This incident remains under investigation by the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.
Another incident was reported to have occurred between Sinai and Volga. In this report, an unknown suspect was able to enter the residence before the homeowner scared them away. These incidents serve as a reminder to lock vehicles, remove keys and valuables from your vehicles. In addition to vehicles, residents are requested to secure homes and outbuildings including doors and windows. Security cameras do work and provide law enforcement great evidence to follow-up.
