Location: Valley Mart in Volga, SD

On the above date and time, the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office, Brookings County Emergency Management and Volga Fire Department responded to the Valley Mart gas station in Volga, SD for a report of a fuel spill. When responding agencies arrived, it was discovered a 2021 Peterbilt 579 had struck road debris on US14 near 468th Ave causing the semi’s fuel tank to be punctured. The Volga Fire Department estimated 40 gallons of diesel fuel to have been spilled. The Volga Fire Department worked with Brookings County Emergency Management and the spill was contained and cleaned up. Damage to the Semi is estimated at $2,500.
