On the above date and time, a deputy with the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office was checking bridge construction equipment at the above location and discovered a “road closed” sign in the ditch. The deputy then replaced the sign and discovered someone had thrown the sandbags holding down sign into the ditch, thrown the sign into the ditch and spray painted profanity onto the sign. The company who owns the sign estimated it to cost $1,500 to fix or replace the sign.
