Reported: 6/14/2022 3:51PM Occurred: Sometime between 6/12/2022 and 6/14/2022 Location: US14/Caspian Ave, Volga
On the above date and time, the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office responded to the above location for a tire which had come off a vehicle while driving. The driver believed the vehicle must have had the lug nuts removed sometime between 6/12/2022 and 6/14/2022. The tire coming off caused an estimated $500 damage. The driver was able to replace the tire and remove the vehicle from the roadway. This incident remains under investigation by the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.
As a safety precaution, the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the motoring public to ensure the safety of their vehicle prior to entering the roadway. Tires and fasteners should be checked for damage, wear and tampering. If you do find damage which may have been intentional please call dispatch, 605-692-2113 and an deputy or officer will meet with you.
